Divi Resorts - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Service was great at Divi St Croix. We very much enjoyed the servers and short order cooks.

Accommodations though, were pretty bad. Resort is practically in disrepair and it's fairly new.

Flooring is curling off the floor.

Many broken tiles in bathroom.

Shower doesn't drain properly due to poor installation. Random puddles that just sit until next shower and refresh.

Toilet doesn't flush properly and won't stop running until given the ole' 90's style jiggle.

Water pressure is a 2 out of 10.

Fire alarms went off for hours. The only real drawback from our first visit that still apparently exists.

Doors leak when it rains.

Eating areas were closed when it rains because the roof leaks in the main areas.

The beach was disgusting (unusable) and it stank terribly. Zero attempts to clean it up. The beach was pristine everywhere else on the island, so the algae and seweed isn't much of an excuse. The last time we were there (same exact time of year 2 years prior), they cleared it with a bobcat daily.

We asked to have the private pool cleaned several times and it was never done. The "VIP" pool was unusable the entire week we were there, and we paid extra to have access to that pool.

The regular "DJ" was AWFUL. We resorted to calling him "DJ D Pressed, D Pressed, D Pressed" ?

The mini putt was unusable, "under renovations," the first time we were there, guess what's still "under renovation" (2 years later) now ?‍♂️?

When we were there an entire (high school/ community college?) sports team came. They would basically shut everything down constantly because they'd come in groups of 10-20 at a time, and the amount of employees working doesn't match that type of immediate demand. Not cool. It's an adults only resort. There shouldn't be an entire sports team commandeering any part of the resort at their whim. An "adult" there is 18 (also the drinking age), so the vast majority of the team were kids under 21. Obnoxious and annoying ?‍♂️

There were also other customers there this time that were pretty "rough around the edges." The type of people you don't want to be around so badly that you just up and leave when they show up. Again, wildly obnoxious and annoying (to be fair, management did actually intervene in one instance of this behavior). Not really Divis fault, but still made the experience far less enjoyable.

2nd time visitor. First time was 5 stars. This time is only 2. Will not be returning.

I paid 40% more this time. Maybe I'd let it slide at that price but at the current price it's ridiculously unacceptable.

The worst vacation ever. Two family members ended up in hospital from mold poisoning from hotel room. Rooms had major water damaged , lights didnt work, black mold all over, doors that dont open or latch , water continually running through dryer vent across floor, appliances dont work, parts of the wall around door missing, patio door held by wood and cockroaches in the rooms running across the rooms. Hotel refused to move us and refused any help. Ten days of vomiting from the mold and cockroaches and hotel management thinks its funny! BIAS !!! Contacted hotel once we got back home, after dozens of phone calls (none returned) and emails a month later they finally responded. Refused to call me or communicate to resolve the issue. Reached out to try to come to any mutual resolution and they refused. Finally there response You are not welcome at our resorts nor your family or friends.

Hotel is Bias and try's to discredit time line of events to down play the horrible family experience the hotel put us in. There is a urgent need for this hotel to overhaul their employees and management (Marco) for wrong doing to a innocent families. Just a mater of time someone gets seriously hurt from their mold, cockroach, unsanitary hotel Divi Village Aruba. Hotel rooms we stays in do not pass any fire or health code.

Customer service is absolutely horrible! Their contract processing system is extremely inefficient. We sent all our paperwork along with payment only to be met with - “Sorry we’re working it and it takes 90 days “. Believe me - not only do they the take 90 days but they exceed it as well. It’s ok to finish early people. Every time we call we’re on hold for a minimum of 50 minutes only to have someone not help us. Very frustrating.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and were convinced to go to the sales meeting for a timeshare in exchange for discounted atv ride. Through extreme distortion of facts and flat out fraud they convinced us to sign the contract. When we tried to cancel they denied us turning our honeymoon into a nightmare.
False and deceptive sales practices as follows:
False Claim of Buyback Options: the sales representative repeatedly assured us that Divi Vacations would buy back the timeshare if we were dissatisfied any time during our ownership of the timeshare.This was a pivotal factor in our decision to proceed with the purchase, as it mitigated perceived risks. However, we later discovered this claim to be a bold-faced lie, as confirmed by a customer service representative who stated that divi Vacations does not and has never conducted buyback. Had we been aware of this deception, we would not have entered into the contract.
Misrepresentation of Maintenance Fees: Divi Vacations stated that all maintenance fees would be waived the first year, the sales representative said " you wouldn't pay any fees in 2024", a crucial detail in our decision-making process. On the contrary to this assurance, on day one we received a maintenance bill due on January 1st, 2024 for the maintenance fees of the following year 2025. A few days later we were denied access to our account due to non-payment of fees we were told would be waived. The deceptive presentation of this information requiring payment through 2026 for access to the account in 2024.was misleading and contrary to what we were led to believe during the sales pitch.
Incorrect Rescission Period Information: we were informed by the sales team that we had a one month window from when the account became active online to rescind the contract. However, upon contacting Divi Vacations, we were told that we owed fees that should have been waived, and we were denied the option to cancel within the period we were explicitly told. The discrepancy between what was represented and the actual rescission policy is clear evidence of deceptive practices.

If you are to visit a Divi resort, do not attend their timeshare presentation. They will offer you a free week voucher. And tell you that you have a year to book and stay. However they do not honor their vouchers and will send you goose chase on who is responsible. It was the biggest scam I have seen in years.

08/09/2021 I enjoyed my Aruba trip again at the Divi resort. However the timeshare manager and the customer service at 91941932484 is horrible. I took my sister since mi recently lot my husband and we had to listen to a timeshare presentation. I told the manager (rossi) and sales person Judeska that if I wanted to buy I would write a check. /the manager said show me your credit card to take to my manager and charged over 16k on my card without my permission. Since then I have been trying to get my money back. Am told it will take 1-2 months. /this is a robbery and I want my money back asap. when we call customer relations they put you on hold and system hangs up. Unbelievable

I went to the Divi Golf with my family - quiet area but people there were nice.
I recently tried to get a hold of someone at the corporate office and it's non-existant - no answer, no return calls and NO EMAIL!!!

Make sure you have all the information about the resort prior to going. I've never seen a resort where you can't get a live person!!
My stars are for the place and people there and NOT for the company that I can't get a hold of a person - that I give one star to.

We've owned a timeshare at Divi Golf and Beach resort for over 10 years. They recently did major renovations of the units, and what a disaster. They removed the bathtubs and remodeled showers that are now too small to comfortably take a shower in. The shower heads are so low that most people have to bend over in an awkward position to take a shower. Overall maintenance is poor---our grill on the deck upstairs has not worked once since we've arrived over the 10 years. They need to fix it each year. Don't go and for sure don't buy a timeshare!
